“It had been 12 weeks since elite US commandos unilaterally stormed Osama bin Laden’s compound near Abbottabad, Pakistan, killing the infamous terrorist leader. Midway through a bicycle tour across northern Pakistan, we decided that enough time had elapsed to visit the wreckage of the site and snap a few photos to show off at a lifetime of dinner parties.“
Michiel en Soraya hebben “The Great Divide Mountainbike Route” gereden. Ze woonden in Nederland, maar reizen nu fulltime naar overal en nergens.
“We were eager and pretty nervous to begin this adventurous expedition; we were in it just for the experience, for whatever it would take to cycle the route. With our newly purchased Koga bikes with Rohloff hubs, we stepped out of the plane in El Paso, Texas, USA. Taking a few days first to acclimatize to the heat, we then started off on the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route.“
Het Britse duo Rebecca en Ryan vertelt over hun reis door China:
“The barren landscape offered little protection from the wind, so that evening we decided to seek shelter in one of the many tunnels under the road. Despite being miles from anywhere, every single one of these tunnels has been used as a toilet. We weaved our bikes around a few human landmines and found a clear patch to pitch the tent.”
